I recently watched the Don Cheadle / Guy Pierce film Traitor. I was pleasantly surprised. When I first heard about the film I assumed it was what I consider to be the 'typical boring oscar contender'. Fortunately, it was engaging, gripping and managed to be exciting while dealing with some serious issues in a very honest and realistic way.

Hmph. So, perhumps we should get over this whole "Oscar Prejudice", hm? Iron Man, Wall-E and Wanted got nominated this year, and they're all fun movies.
ReplyDeleteI watched the "Freedom to Choose" vids just now (sorry about the random posting, but I'm trying to conserve.) Very moving, very inspiring; makes me want to visit a women's prison, except... maybe not. ;D But everything they said was really great to hear, and I can totally see why they're getting an "Aloha" award.
